Currently? Some song in the background of a Newgrounds flash...
Usually? Everything. Literally, me playlist has Mozart, Beatles, Stones, Creed, Korn, Crowded House, Ocean Colour Scene, Musicals (Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors), Movie soundtracks (Pirates of the Carribbean) and so on.
Me general rule is to listen to music which is good, not stick to one genre.

Yeah, Les Miserables rules. However, I may have listened to it too much that not only do I know the words to all the songs, but can sing all the parts in 'One Day More'.

I'm with Sneak. I just about have everything. Literally. From the amazingly intense works by Klaus Badelt from Pirates, to the the Gladiator Soundtrack, over to Mudvayne tearing your eardrums, on to Flogging Molly and The Dubliners for some good ole Irish punk, and even on to linkin park and Disturbed. In another vein entirely falls Andrea Bocelli (you rock if you knew that was a dude) and Josh Groban, and their female counterparts, Sarah Brightman and Charlotte Church. Big Band and Swing through Mozart and the wonderfully mechanical and symmetrical works of Ludwig Van. In between falls everything from Metallica to Michelle Branch, and everything from Trance to Electronica. You name it, I've got it. Providing, that is, that there isn't any rap involved. Or boy bands or J.Ho. Sorry, guys, but that just doesn't flip my switch. But nearly anything you find, I'm bound to be found listening.

This ought to endear me to most Canadians. I have some very dear friends among them who introduced me to Great Big Sea. Aye, even this American can sing Mary Mack, though I won't attempt dancing to it.
When its not Road Rage or Up (I didn't really like Play)...the CD player tends to have the soundtracks to Miss Congeniality (She's a Lady, of course, since we all know I'm the perfect example of lady-like behaviour) or the one to Moulin Rouge.

I have to agree with Hotone on this one I like music. Period. End of discussion. You would be hard pressed to find something I truly hate listening to. If the music has a good beat, I will most likely be jamming with or dancing to it. If it has good lyrics, I will definitely be singing along! All genres, except polka. There are some things that belong locked away for good inside Pandora's box, and polka music is one of them!
As for the original question, right now I have Sneaker (a plural word starting with the letter 'P' that describes a male very popular with the ladies) - 6 Underground thumping and shaking the monitor.
My personal recommendation for real music connoisseurs is Rhapsody by listen.com. It's like launch, but done RIGHT. A good high speed connection is needed though...also worth mentioning is Sirius satellite radio. (If you are DISH network customer then SIRIUS is included free with programming for most standard packages!) Talk about a music lover with ecclectic taste's dream come true!! :)
Whether it's Atlanta Rhythm Section, Ludacris, Lynard Skynard, Creed, The Commodores, Angie Stone, Usher, Limp Bizkit, Sevendust, or one of many other southern (south eastern) artists, there's something here for everyone! Even if not, you have to admit the talent is here...

Animelyrics.com (http://www.animelyrics.com) should have it, if they don't you can bug the site webmaster.
Anyway, currently listening to "It's Gonna Rain" by Bonnie Pink, from the Ruroni Kenshin anime TV series OST, known as Samurai X State-side. It's just so jazzy, blues-y, and rather catchy.

My friend Knuckles, somehow I think that suggestion is gonna rub against the whole family-friendly thing. You might want to change it a little. Like maybe just the song name.
Just a thought, wouldn't want that evil clown after your tail. :D

WOW! Has anyone here heard of George Strait????
I love you. Favorite country artist. Absolute.
Nope.
I have no clue how you can be from our country and not have heard of Mr. Strait. It's like not knowing who Garth Brooks is. Please tell me you know him.
Not that I'm attacking your choice of music. Few people like country. But he is country music.

I honestly dont know who Strait is either but thats probably because i dont listen to country i mean look into my car's CD changer: Demon Days by Gorillaz, My burned Anime CD (entirely japanese :D ), Meteora by Linkin Park, and a few other burned CDs so i mean it would be hard for me to hear a song by him...

Of course I know who Garth Brooks is. Trog, you have to realize that I don't listen to country music EVER, and you come from Tennessee, the heart of country music!

For those of you who enjoy seeing what other people are listening to, you should check out AudioScrobbler (http://www.audioscrobbler.com) and its sister site Last.FM (http://www.last.fm). Sweetest service ever.
If you want to see what I'm listening to, then check my AudioScrobbler profile here (http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/GeorgetheFlea). I just joined, so the list is hardly even representative, but whatever.
(Just to warn people, as of this post the AudioScrobbler and Last.fm websites aren't really working; the service is in beta, so it's probably cut out for whatever reason. Make sure to check back later if it's not working, because it truly is an awesome service.)

I just discovered "Disturbed" (don't know why I didn't know them before) and they're just great. ^^
Has anyone of you heard "Down with the sickness" or "Liberate"? These songs simply ROCK.

Relient K is my favorite band ever!
The funny thing about Relient K is that they are the band music snobs love to hate. But honestly, they put out some really catchy tunes that even a part-time snob like myself can appreciate. Pressing On is indeed a good one. 8)
Me, I'm stuck on a band called Mae (http://whatismae.com). My boyfriend got me absolutely hooked on them. We're both big Lifehouse fans, and it's right along the same lines. Catchy tunes, introspective lyrics. Me likey. :D

But besides from listening to that whenever im on my computer, for some reason i used to be all rock wiether it soft of heavy metal but now im al linto Techno and stuff with a good dance beat its kinda wierd but i like it (plus i found the perfect bass to treble ratio for my car so it sounds awesome even when its only at Volume: 3 now if only i can find the perfect seat position)

The winamp playlist right now is full of Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson, Richard Cheese, Gaia Consort, Eagles, Jim Croce, and ACDC. The afternoon playlist is a bit harder, and the evening playlist is softer.
What is it about music? Every culture in the world has it, and everyone likes some variety of it.

Right now I'm listening to my Harley Davidson: Songs for the Road.
Actually, I prefer music from the seventies and eighties (since that's what I grew up on). Mostly AC/DC and ZZ Top.
I also enjoy the soundtrack to Heavy Metal (the first one).
But I'm not just into Rock. I grew up listening to Country. I enjoy classical, and odd musicals like Fiddler on the Roof.

Now listening to "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi", or namely its chorus part, entitled "O Fortuna", from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The aforementioned chorus was used in Sly Stallone's Cliffhanger movie commercials.
Ah, the perfect background accompaniment to plotting global domination. 8)

This minute? The Kinks - Celluloid Heroes.
I've also been listening to a lot of country lately, Loretta Lynn mainly. I've liked her ever since I saw "Coal Miner's Daughter" on TV one day. I thought her collaboration with Jack White was great. She's a great writer and Van Lear Rose is the first album where she wrote all the songs.

Yes, I know, this is an old topic, but I finally got Jay-Z's MTV Unplugged CD and it's amazing! Rap and hip hop are hard to do unplugged and I thought it was genius the way Jay-Z got The Roots to accompany him and recreate or substitute all the electronic sounds. On top of that you have guest vocals by Mary J.! The whole CD has such a fresh sound. If you can catch the show on TV I highly reccomend that too.
