Not that we don't absolutely love answering the same questions over and over from every new farmperson who enters the game, but why not have the F.A.Q. pop up as the last step of character creation?
Or as an alternative for those who have popup blockers, add a link on the last page of character creation with a message like "We suggest all new players read the Frequently Asked Questions before entering the game".

I am very proud to announce that I have been promoted to moderator for a forum for n00b questions. Have a look, I've already been working hard on it!

Just make them at least click through it before they get to the village... or have it mailed to them automatically? Either way, anything that reduces the barrage of questions would be welcome ( for ye moderators especially methinks...)

It's on the list to do Cats :-) It's just not quite as glamorous as clans, hehe

Along those lines, and I meant to get to it earlier. I'd like to expend the effort to write up even a .txt file of rules for the primary server. Could such an effort be put to use in the game, or added as part of the FAQ directly if it were done?

I'm already working on a User Agreement / Code of Conduct for the Central Server...

Should have time in a few days to rework the draft, then probably post it here for comments.

Something like 'I agree not to swear on the forums, cause unnecessary problems, attempt to hack into the server etc.). The only caution about that would be not to make any code of conduct too tyrannical - keeping it as it is, with the Admins digression being the measure of things, seems to work. Iron fist within velvet glove and all that.
