New forum with "page" access

Hey yo, forum admins, just to be polite with the newbies you can setup a forum where only people with 1+ DK can access to ask or speak about more deep game questions. It remembers you something else? :)

(I can see a lot of troubles with my idea, I know...)

Yeah - "universal" anything stats are meaningless because not all servers have the same standards - anyone with superuser access can edit dks, and servers with 24 game days per day mean some people level more than others.

I don't see that as impossible, LadyPhoenix, because I'm not thinking in an automated system but in a by-request one.

At least in Central Server there are many people that are moderator both in the game and in forum, so we can Ye Olde Mail him to ask for access granted. Another task for moderators, I know, but that's the best solution I can see.

Believe me, I had to delete 2 or 3 of my posts here after decide that it shows secret information that newbies doesn't know yet.

Actually, an automatic system could work - but only if it's limited to the official servers, for control.

Not easily, no.
Such would require editing phpbb in a considerable way, which I've yet to see someone want to do without going into the forum business themselves.
One could do it over a complicated system without modifying phpbb, but that's still too complicated as far as I can think of it.

Hiya nexus, don't waste your money in useless bounties! I agree with you that edit phpBB to fit particular needs is a nightmare. I've done that with good results, but the extra effort didn't compensate the gains, and worst of that, it makes phpBB really hard to keep updated, so any new bugs found in this particular version would remains opened.

JCP, as I said in another forum, I strongly discourage edit core's phpBB unless it becomes part of the game itself (I doubt it).

So I keep myself thinking that we (mortals doomed to die instead of Noble Moderators all ruled by the MigthyOne) could benefit with some slightly restricted forum.
