So, any other server admins out there?

I've been running a small game for a while now...only a few players, but it hasn't been advertised anywhere.

Thats like me. I have one set up on my website (which is currently unfinished), so I haven't been advertising it at all.
I've been slowly adding mounts I've seen on the main server as I figure out the specifics of each (so far have added the hellhound and wyvern), and have created a few of my own.

...really?

Game balancing is a bitch, but I'm certainly interesting in seeing more mounts.

I wish I knew how to make a game. I still want to here what you have for mounts, Voratus.

Well I'm not an S-Admin but I am an Admin on logd.luekinghost.net and used to be an Admin at logd.sg-world.net before they closed down. In May or early June I am hoping I'll have the money to get my own domain and put my own LoGD on there. I know QB and a bit of PHP, plus I'm taking an intro to C++ and Java in January so I should be able to modify the game pretty good by June.

::raises his hand and says, "Here, brought my lunch."

I've been away from the main server lately and just noticed the link to the forums a few days ago. Good idea including a web board linked to the game, I like it! Kudos to you guys for extending the community even more! :D

Oh yes... I was going to post this on the sourceforge forums, but I'll ask it here. Regarding the new clan system that is currently running on the main server, when .9.8 goes public will the admins be able to turn it's use on or off from the game settings menu if we don't want to use it or will we have to edit it out by hand? The server I run is small (only 11 players or so) and clans are not really needed or wanted (at the moment) by the players there. Just wondering if one of the admins from the main server could clue me in on this.

Thanks!

I have the LoGD running at www.tqfgames.com - someone told me about the game and it was something a bit different from what we normally have and I saw some potential for the game and I like the speed with what developement is happening.

Been running the game since 0.9.6 and altough still a small game it is picking up slowly :)

Nice seeing a proper forum going - the one at sourceforge realy sucked

I like sourceforge for what it is. Truly a developer system more than anything and not really an area for socializing.

I've recently been going into the code and changing/adding things, instead of the simple "forest specials" available for download at sourceforge. Its definitely been a good learning experience, and I can pretty much do what I desire to the game (though some thing still elude me).
I've added a new race, a new class, a weak sort of alignment system (not as full-fledged as I wanted, but thats one of the things thats more in-depth than I thought it would be), and I intend on adding in more "villages" (probably so I have one for each race), along with some unique forest places, similar to the Dark Horse Tavern.
It goes slow, because I enjoy playing as much as creating, and my free time is limited.
I have to admit to taking much of my inspiration from Strider's server, though I'm trying not to simply copy what I see.

I run a server for a clan/community called ChaosFactors. I have no prior knowledge of mysql or php so it was fun to set this up. I Had some silly runins while seting it up, most of the things went flawless cept for me forgeting to remove a # on the line for tmp which created a problem when the script needed to temp write random events :D Else I removed the show script part of logd cause it could be used for cheating ;) Think the most I've had on the server at the same time is 5-6 people and no problems yet. Server is located at http://chaosfactors.game-server.cc

Have been admin a few places. Decided to start my own (2 actuallly).

Currently am admin on only 1 server other than those running my own server.

Have spent some time crunching scripts snippets to offer a unique version of lotgd.

Has been fun.

I'm the main Admin to baihamut.com/lotgd. I've been working a lot on it making changes to take lotgd to the 41st Millenium (spelling way off). I've taken some mods from other sites and used them, but also created a new city and some new events to happen.

I currently only have a few players because I haven't changed a lot of what the shops say and the like. I'll work on that later though.

In process.

I've created LAN and telnet games, but am new to PHP and SQL. I've generally used Jet databases and I'm not liking SQL at all.

I've found myself making so many suggestions here over the past few months that I've been playing that it only seemed fair for me to set up my own game and implement them. I have a lot of ideas in mind, but I rather expect that what I'm ultimately going to end up with isn't going to resemble LOGD much. No time frame as of yet. These things always seem to take longer than they should.

Be sure to have a look over at DragonPrime, Pirotess. There are a lot of mods available there, and always many more under discussion and/or development.
