Just a heads up for all of you who wish to go all out on the suicide thing. It works wonders for those who wish to just get some more gameplay in. But if you have experience in excess of about 15000 points, you WILL net a loss of experience with this technique, because there is no way to make up the experience lost on the suicide (15% of what you had when you attacked) with the 4 turns allotted to Resurrected players. Even the <CERTAIN NUMBER> if you have a Sstallion (Magic Reindeer in holiday-speak) is generally not enough. Above level 9 or 10, you will lose out on experience, unless you rule at PvP and are really rich, enough that sneaking into the inn 3 extra times is practical. But if this is cool with you, by all means, do it to it.

Yeah, the 3 extra PvP fights is the important thing. I find I can always manage to win 3 if there are 3 to be had... its just the getting killed bit I cant manage :-)

also, another thing to add, i don't think spirits aren't randomly assigned. In my case, spirits have depended on how many times I've been killed in my sleep...just what I saw :D

actualy if you don't log back in when you log off you can only be killed once. Every time you log back in you can be killed again, also Spirit is random.

Heidi helps the farmers really wellIndeed. That's exactly who I intended her for, but even Gods use her now. It all depends on your strategy I guess... Elessa has made it to Godhood without any PvP at all. So it might not be the fastest way, but playing without PvP can definitely be done.

I use a strategy with 2 phases and with one I use her and with the second I PvP

Sounds kind of conflictory... For me, PvP all the way, I ususally set aside enough money to do 3 fights. Besides, I never go to Glorifindal anyways.

I often haven't got the money for 3 bar fights a day but the best targets are in the bar, especially the truant farmers, hmm truant farmers :P

i wouldn't necessarily describe my gameplay strategy as slow. i have recently pared my dk turnaround time from an average nine days to seven. never once have i used a pvp to slay another player, nor used for suicide.

from my first dk in april 2004 it took me nine months to reach the thirty first in january 2005. my ascent to that thirty first dragon kill was also somewhat hampered by a total of four months travelling the united states, canada and britain.

I started in May 2004 and now have 13 DKs... of course, I did use to level every day, but no more. Now that I got Final Fantasy XI for Christmas, I spend most of my free time on that, and only level about once a week. I do go on the forums a lot now (I am turning into BD) because they take up less time than leveling and are almost as fun. Plus I have special powers on the forum that I don't have ingame...

I started playing just about a year ago this time, give or take a month, and have 80ish DKs at the moment. Of course, this comes from what some might regard as an addiction, or perhaps an obsessive compulsive complex. I prefer to think of it as commitment, or stick-to-it-ness.

You play more than me. Unfortunately I now only level about once a week, and often I try to kill people who I don't like that are more powerful than me for the fun of it, and die. That's why I have so many resurrections this time around...
