What does "sticky" mean?

I wondered... what does sticky mean when it's before the title of a thread?

It means the topic will always be listed at the top of the first page of each board...it's like thumbtacked in place by the mods.

If something is stickied, like Mortimer said, it always stays on the top of the board, and never vanishes, or gets deleted.

If somebody types a really good tutorial on this board, which would be valuable to new players, I will sticky it, so its always there.
