It would be neat if you could send mail to all members, or all online members of a clan also. This would make communication much easier since some people won't be going into the clan hall all the time.

There is a message of the Day function in Clan halls, but that's true - being able to send a short message to all me clan members would make setting clan policy much easier.

Yeah, also it'd be easier to collaborate with the Clan during the hunt. This way if you're upstairs in the inn setting up a target you could still have contact with your mates.

I think a better option would be a clan discussion board that you can keep open at the same time as the main window. That way it's easy to discuss with clan members without having to stop what you're doing and go back to the clan hall. Absent that, some clan-related automation of ye-olde-mail would be very nice.

I had petitioned at one time to my local admin for a "carbon copy" option in YOM. Where you could send the same mail to any number of people. That way you could choose whoever you want to include in the mail.

Too easily exploitable by spammers. A clan thing usable by the leaders would be more select...

Well, if there is a problem with spammers, then we'd have to have a mail block function or filter function. Which that wouldn't be a bad idea anyway. We don't have a problem, to my knowledge about people abusing the mail system on dragoncat, but I'm sure it's a whole different world on the main server. Of course, if a spammer is going to spam then there's really nothing stopping them from cutting and pasting their message to whomever they want. It's more work for them, but if they really want to be an A hole, then I doubt the lack of a carbon copy option is going to stop/hinder them very much.

The problem with that Hammer is that there is very little benefit for a LOT of work (if it went so far as needing mail filters, etc :/)
That gets out of the realm of 'fun and interesting and enjoyable' into downright drudgery and thus falls much lower on my priority list.
I know for a fact that a multi-mail function *would* be abused (I've seen it abused everywhere I've ever seen it implemented without signifigant safegaurds to prevent specific abuse).

I think this would do the trick also. Maybe we could have the Clan Hall open in a new window rather than the main window?
