I just now thought of this, as I was waiting for the screen to change fighting things in the underworld.

What about a special event in the forest, and one of the rewards from it (a fairly rare one) could be some sort of jewel that gets used in the underworld. You could only carry one at a time, and when you wound up in the underworld, you could "use" it, and it would enhance your spirit, making you stronger there. Kind of like a DK for dead people.

I know the forest special wouldn't be difficult to do, but I don't know how much code-changing would have to be done for the dead side of things.

I was trying to come up with something to make the underworld a bit more..something besides just fighting to get resurrected.

Or having another option after a DK to allow ye to have better graveyard stats... I suggested something similar to add to the Gypsy's tent (purchase favour with gems...)

I like the idea of being able to use DK points to buy better underworld stats. Or if not DK points, then perhaps use favor to buy better underworld stats. 500 favor = +1 to atk or def in the afterlife, purchaseable at Raimus. That way a player would have to choose between ressurecting and having an extra game day, or saving favor for an underworld stat increase. I don't think it would be abuseable, since a) you only get 10 graveyard turns per death, b) you're automatically rez'd at the beginning of each new game day so you can't stay in the underworld and accumulate points, and c) if you're going to the underworld all the time in an attempt to accumulate favor, you're going to have a long haul in the live world to make up for the loss of xp.

But that may cause an unbalanced effect. So people with 30+ DKs earned the DK bounus and now can also get extra help in the underworld. I think that might be asking for trouble.

An excellent point, Terron...though its all rather moot.

I've talked to MightyE about things like this; and he has very little interst in them. The graveyard was created just to give those who had died a bit of interest...a little something to do. He never intended for it to become an intergral part of the game - as he says, you should not be rewarded for being dead, nor should it be a pleasant or entertaining experience.

So basically, all his attentions to fixes and new goodies in the game will be granted to those among the living, and Ramius will just have to continue to feel unloved...someone be sure to bring him some tissue on their next trip down.

*remembers the game without the Graveyard*

'Twas lonely being dead...

Indeed, the graveyard was just to give something very small to those who were unfortunate enough to die on their first turn of the day. It actually started out as just a comment area, and I threw in the fights when my friends pestered me about it.
