I'm adding some new classes and I happened to notice the code behind the current ones. Does anyone else think the balance is WAY off here? Thief level 4 ability is backstab, giving X3 to both attack and defense. That's one mighty buff. Especially combined with Stallion or Love. Mages 4th level spell is a mere 2X damageshield, meaning, you still get hurt, and you only return double the damage the baddie sent, which is usually weaker than player attack. Thoughts?

You can still get hurt even with the backstab buff in place. Especially against the Green Dragon. I tend to use Dark Arts mostly, but even when I choose to be a thief, all of the buffs aren't that great. Insult is pretty worthless. Poison Blade is so so. I've never used the 3rd level thief skill and couldn't even tell you what it's called it's so worthless. Backstab is about the only good thing thieves have going for them.

Just my $0.02.

The three classes have very different styles of play - the mage class has some incredible healing powers by the end and the Dark arts has the Voodoo power which makes it impossible to not beat the Dragon. The thief powers are multipliers - so they are completely dependant on your stats. Hence for some each of the classes will bring their own rewards...

I realize that they each have their own way to play, however, all my players were switching to Thief once someone informed them of the huge attack bonus with Backstab. I've scaled it back some, simply because it was starting to be called the 'Backstab exploit', esp. its use with a mount and Poison Blade.

Wow! Sounds like some people are using all of their gems at Foilwench! I never waste gems on getting extra use points, unless it happens while giving a gem to the fairy. To each his own though.
