I was thinking of all the great Role Playing Games I've ever played, and I noticed that Legend of the Green Dragon is missing something.... Player Parties. I'm not talking about music and people dancing, I'm talking about two or more players playing at the same time to accomplish a goal. Player Parties would be a great addition to LotGD. But now that I think about it, it would probably be impossible to code. Still I think it would be great if it could be done.
Thoughts? Feelings? please post them here. Thanks.

Maybe like a persistent boss-type monster with a set (very large) amount of hit points, that people could gang up on all at once.
Betcha that could cause some server strain though.

What could probably (I think) be done would be to have, say, 5 other people 'join' a person and then log out and then that one person controls them al for a co-operative battle against some huge Demon or something.
Or have Clans fight proper wars... ;>

Aye, 'Tis true... ;>
But it would be great fun to have the combined power of a whole clan behind ye... ye'd be able to take down flights of Dragons!

I really like that idea, here is my spin on it.
One player could start the party, and other players that wanted to join it, clicked Join Party somewhere, say in the clan hall, and it logged them out, and the other player could beat whatever monster and all the players that were in the party would get a share of the Exp and Gold.
And lets say that it was a special monster that had to be fought like that, and its diffuculty depended on how many players were in the party, and the harder the monster was, the more Exp and Gold it gave to players. And of course there is the whole possibility of the whole party dying, or only a part of the party dying, that could make things intresting.
That might be eaiser to code than what i was originally thinking.
Anyone else want to help expand this idea?

Aye, 'twas exactly what I was thinkin' of! One way to do it would be to calculate extra people as Buffs and have them give the main person extra HP, attacks, defense etc. based on their stats (but ye'd need a method o' extrapolating a Buff from changeable stats though...no idea how difficult to code that'd be.)

I don't particularly like this idea, not because it's not good, it is that, but because it is a feature from usurper... you could have allies there, and use them to attack certain creatures... (Mainly, the final, toughest boss, Talesin and I did that and became the first ones to beat the old usurper game at mircx.com's old BBS)

Alas, I have never played Usurper - I meself as above was only really thinkin' of huge special threats like a random Flight of Dragons or Inter-Clan wars in some kind of arena.
