I don't know if anyone else is having this problem or if my profile/character is somehow messed up, but I absolutely cannot survive a single PvP fight the past week or so.

Previously, I managed to inflict quite a lot of damage on people (not just Farmboys) attacking me when I slept in the Inn, and was able to kill quite a few people in their sleep, even a Count and Barror or two.

Now however, I have been unable to kill even a Farmboy on a lower level than myself, twice now. Also, in my sleep, I inflict little to no damage on those attacking me.

Now I have all the best weaponary and armour available to me, but with being killed every night without fail with no chance of survival, I'm finding it totally impossible to progress, and have been stuck on level 12 for the past two weeks.

Anyway, I'm just wondering why I have suddenly gone so weak, dispite my experiance, HP, weaponary and Armour. Have there been some balancing tweaks or something in the game? Why doesn't it work both ways?

try differant opponents, or check the oppenents stats first before you attack ( i know a jolly barkeeping in the forest with a file case of every players stats) or mabey you should spend some of your gems to see if it HelPs you

As you gain in levels, it gets "harder" tow in in PvP because the Random Number Generator becomes much more important.

Because the attack and defense numbers oppose each other, the difference is the important factor, and the magnitude of that difference shrinks as the values themselves get larger.

For example:

Att: 3; Def: 2; Difference: 1; Difference as % of Def: 50%

Att: 30; Def: 29; Difference: 1; Difference as % of Def: 3.4%

Thus, as you and your opponents rise in levels, the differences between the stats is worth less and less. So the bodyguard buff when sleeping in the inn is very valuable at low levels, then gets less valuable as you gain levels.

So, because the att and def numbers are so much closer, the outcome is more and more dependant on the RNG.

Many people encounter this - and find that the game becomes very difficult to advance in once you hit level 10 or so.

While it is true that you have no control about getting killed every night, that experience loss is minimal. At least on Central, the loss when you get killed in your sleep is much less than the loss when you fail to kill a creature or another player - which you have much more control over.

Skipping a PvP and not gaining or losing experience is much better than a large experience loss at high levels.

Only by playing the game more cautiously and effectively managing risk can you advance through the higher levels. It is certainly a different game in the higher levels and may require a change in strategy.

Ahh, thanks for the explination :)

I'll just keep away from the PvP stuff for a while until I've leveled up a bit more...

Thanks ;)

Well, I cut and pasted into a new post in the newbie board. That should help.

Shrimp....you can also try finding a board that has more "days" and fights. I used about 6 different boards and i have officially narrowed it down to 1 board. my cpu at home is busted, so i can only play at work (3-12), but i get 4, sometimes 5 games in each day, and with 50 fights each time, i have 3 dragon kills in about 2 weeks...
