I'm a die-hard lord fan from many many moons ago..
A brief history:
In 1992 I started up Mach Five BBS running WWIV software, ran until 1996 when the popularity of the internet killed BBS's. Attempted to set the old board back up last year running a differnt software and make it telnetable.. Well I kept it up for a few months, but it never caught on..
Just today I was talking to somone on IRC about BBSs and such and thought, I wonder if anyone ever ported a LORD or Tradewars type game over to the web..
So thats how I found this.. And I must say, kudos to everyone involved in the LOTGD project.. You've made an oldshool sysop very happy!

That brings back fond memories of using my 2400 baud modem on my 386 to dial into my friends BBS to play BRE.
Good times, good times....

I miss BRE...
Tradewars is pretty much ported as Black Nova Traders.

Looking at the poll results so far there is a distinct trend,
people have either used a BBS (I am one, just) or they have no idea.
I've played Black Nova Traders online before... It's a pretty fun game
What was BRE?

I remember my days of BRE... had some fun ones fighting other BBSs by way of FIDONET. (Yes, I actually remember what they called it).
Now that's another game that would be fun to see made into a web based version.

Curses! I downloaded the single player demo last night at work, deleted the file, and now the link doesn't load. Does anyone have a copy of the demo archive file?

Thanks scoob, don't need it now though. The site is back up, so I guess it was just a temporary technical malfunction.
Thanks anyways :D

Ahhh the good old days, with my Amiga 1000 and a 1200baud modem ;-)
Before that my firsts PC were a Commodore PET 2001 nd a Radio Shack TRS-80. I've used also an IMSAI 8080 (do you remember the PC with a row of switches in War Games movie ?) and an Apple ][ for my first job (I was a clerk in the first PC shop in Milano - Italy in '77).
D@mn, I'm too nostalgic, better go back to code the last mod for LoGD

/me remembers those days, but barely. `#"I never played RPGs on BBSes. I did research and *smiles innocently* found useful information available, and some not available...
