The "C" in "jcpetersen" stands for Clark.

While my parents were still dating, they went to a Halloween costume party. My mother was a cat, and my father went as Clark Kent, complete with a Superman costume underneath that he revealed at midnight.

That night, after the party, he proposed, and my middle name is in honor of that night.

So the news that Christopher Reeve has passed away has affected me very hard.

To quote Superman #75:

"But most will remember this sad day as the day the proudest, most noble man they ever knew finally fell. For those who loved him, one who would call him husband, one who would be his pal, or those who would call him son, this is the darkest day they could ever imagine. They raised him to be a hero... to know the value of sacrifice. To know the value of life. And for those who served with Superman in the protection of all life comes the shock of failure. The weight of being too late to help. For a city to live, a man had given his all and more. But it's too late. For this is the day that a Superman died."

i don't think his death would've affected us all so deeply if Reeve wasn't as great a person as the character he's most famous for playing.
i was hoping one day he'd walk again.

lights a candle and despairs, "the world will never see another man like him...'

In honour of the fact that on the day of his death, I progressed from a Reeve (OMG THAT'S HIS LAST NAME) to whatever I am now...(Steward?) I too shall mourn his passing.

Let us hope that in heaven he walks again.
