View Full Version : Other players at the same level - stats

First off, I find the latest announcement about seeking out the dragon dependant on chance to be a negative change to the game. I feel it limits the players decision making process and leaves him/her without options when they do engage the dragon. I.E. using all your talent points (or having the dragon's breath drink) makes it incredibly to defeat the dragon based on attack only without talent points.

Anyway, I wanted to post my stats and see what other players may be doing that I'm not doing, because the game is getting overly difficult at my DK and level.

Name Reeve Lvangundy
Level 15
Hitpoints 163/207
Attack 32
Defense 32
Spirits High
Gems 43
Experience <SNIP>
Equipment Info:
Weapon Dwarf Warrior's Battle Axe (15)
Armor Dwarven Chainmail Chestplate (15)
Creature Roc

Even with these maxed out stats including lovers protection and full Roc turns, I still finding myself having to heal after every battle (even while slumming!). I strongly feel something isn't quite balanced with the gameplay yet. I want to get people thinking about this because I know the game could be more enjoyable and fulfilling then it is now.

So where are other players stats at?

Sorry, I don't think other players need to know how much experience is needed to get to 15. No big deal. -Acemaster

I don't exactly think it's the greatest idea to give out stats... it makes you very... vulnerable. I found that with the more DKs I had it got progressively easier, and most players will agree with me. Depending on your strategy, it doesn't get hard until 50+ dk's. Note that your high HP may have something to do with how hard enemies are.

do you enter every forest fight with full HP? if so, you might wish to look at the HP of the opponent once in a while. i generally do not heal until i have used more than half my HP. that saves gold and allows me to save my special talents for when i really need them.

then there is the whole thing about beverage consumption .....

For what it's worth, a game where you don't have to heal after every fight would not be balanced.

We actually do try to have our creatures inflict damage.

And contrary to removing choices, I feel it removes predictability. Most players have a strict plan to follow in prepping to kill the dragon, and then killing the dragon becomes so easy that it has no longer a question of IF they will kill the dragon, but if they can do it flawlessly.

The end boss of the game should not be defeated flawlessly so often.

Which likely means an end to my perfect flawless dragon kill record... :(

Oh well.

i agree JCP. there are times when my HP are used much faster than others and i have to heal more frequently. that is what keeps it so exciting! as for the dragon .... i think it adds a certain amount of realism to the game. most hunters have to follow their prey. i won't always like it (especially when i don't find the right cave) but i think it is a great addition.

I'm not too concerned about revealing my stats. You're going to get PKvPed no matter what.

So does anyone have any other suggestions about stats? Is 207HP at lvl 15 high for a reeve? That seems quite low to me, should I concentrate on buffing up attack/def points? Don't those scale with monster level? Or do monsters only scale with hit points?

Here's an example of what I'm talking about with being extremely low on health after slumming! What is this?! This was an auto 10 round attack, yes I'm aware I started out with LESS HP than the mob. I could see looking for something to kill being this difficult, but not slumming.

Level: 14
Start of round:
Syrius's Hitpoints: 145
YOUR Hitpoints: 83
You try to hit Syrius but MISS!
Syrius hits you for 25 points of damage!
Next round:
You try to hit Syrius but MISS!
Syrius hits you for 9 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 16 points of damage!
Syrius tries to hit you but MISSES!
Next round:
You try to hit Syrius but are RIPOSTED for 1 points of damage!
You try to hit Syrius but MISS!
Syrius tries to hit you but you RIPOSTE for 1 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 5 points of damage!
Syrius hits you for 6 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 27 points of damage!
Syrius hits you for 6 points of damage!
Syrius hits you for 3 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 7 points of damage!
Syrius tries to hit you but you RIPOSTE for 9 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 14 points of damage!
Syrius hits you for 3 points of damage!
Next round:
You hit Syrius for 15 points of damage!
Syrius hits you for 5 points of damage!
Next round:
You try to hit Syrius but are RIPOSTED for 3 points of damage!

Please see this thread (http://lotgd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=423) and apply it to your situation.

Summary: The relative difference between levels is much bigger at lower levels and virtually meaningless at level 14/15, slumming or not.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I make my post-DK choices very carefully. Hence, the forest fights are not really all that bad for me (except when I am a level 1 fighting a level 2).

Potential SPOILER:
My advice is focussing on your actual attack/defense. <SNIP!>.

indeed it is a spoiler... sorry,i know it doesn't really make sense now.
