View Full Version : The more things change... (Plus ça change...)
Catscradler

In the early hours of the evening, it is time for some heavy administrative decisions.
"JCP," says Catscradler, "are you absolutely, positively sure you want to do this?"
"The game needs to be rebalanced after the latest feature addition," replies JCP as he brings the change into being, reducing the reward that forest creatures drop by one gold piece.
There is a flash of light, and seemingly out of nowhere a mob appears waving petitions, placards, polls and transcripts of discussions all protesting the newest change. There is, of course, one person yelling abuse in chatspeak. Each of the staff sigh in resignation as they prepare to deal with the onslaught.
"So," asks Catscradler, "anybody still hoping they'll give the change a fair trial?"

I doubt that any minor change would generate the reaction stated. A major change probably would - not that I have anything specific in mind, of course...
Hmm, I've never seen any Admin forbid positive comments about a change for the first week...

Quick! Somebody push the superuser but-ton!!!!

Quadraxis realizes that the mob isn't rooting for the change, and he quickly splits off from it.

I have been waving my pitchfork and torch in protest for all this time, and NOW they chime in?!
Audrey inflation must be stopped! :)

:chuckles and pulls his sword out of his sheath as the white aura apears. He chuckles as he slashes downwards snaping Furions pitchfork in half and cutting two strands of hair fall off his head:
"Hheeh you look like homer now!"
"A gold piece!? How could you do this to us! Don't you know how hard it is t-..."
:is dragged, bagged and gagged by some angry villagers. :D

:laughs at the small person being draged and then rolls on the floor laughing at Furion's bald head thinking he has male pattern baldness now:
Atrus

Meanwhile, in the forest, as the angry crowd besieges the admin staff, Atrus is quietly at work, hewing and slaying at will.
Small changes in gold are no major problem...and whilst the crowds are busy, he is quietly working on his next dragon kill.
"Everyone is off arguing..and the forest is quiet...I can live with that, more for me in the meantime.........."

(gently reminds Perrin to be careful of violent or semi-violent roleplay towards others, even though he (Furion) didn't particularly mind it. It's just the rules. However, a pitchfork being a necessary part of protesting....)
:pulls out a new pitchfork.
:usually has a buzz cut anyway. :D

After the subtle hint comes the clue-by-four in the form of a forum ban. I have already had to edit several of your posts, other staff have too and they, and I, have warned you privately. WATCH WHAT YOU POST, make it FAMILY FRIENDLY or you will be BANNED because you are making too much work for us and if it continues one of us will get sick of cleaning it all up.

Obviously, Perrin, you have difficulty distinguishing between mature, intelligent, courteous, family friendly dialogue and childish, immature dribble. Please grow up and use the manners your parents taught you.
As Saucy and others have warned you, you will be banned. Don't complain about it. Just change your behavior and attitude.
On a personal note, I think you've been warned enough. You push the limits, appologize, then do it again. I suggest you learn from your mistakes and act mature.

Catscradler watches the milling mob from his place of (relative) security on top of a building. It seems that some of them have taken to fighting among themselves rather than targeting the staff.
"Ah, just like last time," says Catscradler. He sits down in a chair he's placed on the roof for just such an occasion, and hopes that the argument will end soon and most of the crowd will disperse. He suddenly sits bolt upright as he realises the one thing he forgot to do. Picking up a paint roller, he proceeds to grease the top two feet of the building's walls.
"Just in case," mutters Catscradler, "just in case."
