I'm glad the problem of the stuck clock is fixed. I didn't petition for it, as a MOD a few days ago asked not to do it, for you were looking for the nasty little imp that had stolen the right pendulum. Seems there was no need, as many others did.
I hope it won't happen again... for it cost me and probably others to be once again killed in PvP (warning; this is noooot a complain, just a commentary!) (maybe there are touchy peolple around...), as a new day did not appear, but as I relogged, I counted as "awaken".
So, if you see a small imp going around with a clock needle in his hands... chain it.
EDITION:
I have seen the new MOD by JCP. Sorry it is such a problem. You have my heartfelt encouragements, and if this expression does not exist, let it be invented. :D Good luck in fixing the code!
Yes, we know how important newdays are, especially with pvp.
There were a lot of problems over the past few days, true.
However, what many "newer" players may not know is that we've had these problems every "february-to-march" transistion ever since the game went live more than 2 years ago.
We pushed code to fix it so it should (fingers crossed) never happen again.
We new pushing the code would create problems for some players, but decided to do so anyway in order to get everything done and over with.
This was my decision, and while I knew to expect a lot of petitions, I did not realize we would run into the limit of how many petitions we could track at one time, which froze a few admin accounts last night.
We also did not expect our "fixit" tools to get broken, but they did. We got them fixed as soon as possible.
And all this fixing affected the game clock, which was another problem that we needed to address.
So yes, the newdays have been a mess this week, but we hope to not have to do this again.

I would personally like to apologize to all the admins and moderators for the Petiton for Help i sent. I have problems with my school network, and it for some reason blocks the MOTD, but nothing else, so i couldn't find out what was happening for a while.
Deepest apologies, Sir Quady
/me crosses fingers in the hope that this won't happen again.
No need to apologize.
(But please try to figure out a way to see the motd - there's some important stuff in there!)

Hum... so it's a problem with February not having 30 days at least? Would it be possible to artificially add two days at a quicker rythm to avoid that? (I suppose you already thought of it, but well...)

I believe it's more about the possibility of a leap day. the same problems also occurred at new year and when moving to/from daylight savings time. Hopefully all those are fixed now.
