You've no doubt seen the new format help forum...
No? Go ahead and look. I'll wait.
(mmm mmm mmm)
(mmm mmm)
(mmm... hotwings...)
Back? Good.
The new format serves a few purposes:
1. People were asking for assistance in the help forum and not petitioning. Or doing both. Or asking for petition-level help for a server we do not support.
By removing a specific "ask for help" board, we hope to reduce that.
You can still ask questions, just not in a board labelled "help."
2. We spend a lot of time answering the same petitions. This should either reduce those, or at least make it easier to answer them.
3. It should empower you.
Both moderators and players try to help out players and do not always get the respect they deserve, or they might not be giving the correct answers. Now you can give people the url of the appropriate help desk topic and it will be an "official, top level" answer. Which is why all posts will be by Saucy, Moonchilde, MightyE, or myself - you don't get more official than the four of us.
I'm going through the current help forum to convert the posts, and then will probably start on the newbie board, which may disappear.
Please feel free to suggest new topics or additions either here or in PMs.
And in the future, if someone asks a question that should have the answer "help desk"ed, add a response to suggest it.
