i saw him last night in the forest, approximately ten hours ago. he would have gladly upgraded my fists for me at a cost, but i politely declined and sent him on his way.

:laughs
what wouldst be even worse is if he were to downgrade the fists
:shudders at the thought of shriveled hands
or the t-shirt. wouldst that mean i would now be traipsing though the forest entirely unclothed?

I've been downgraded to Fists - 1 on several occasions. Smiythe tackles you and then ties one arm behind your back. Very awkward trying to fight like that. :P

That is funny, but how can he UPGRADE your fist? There you go, now that the IRON has melted onto your hand and has poisoned you, you can fight better! Not. And how can MightyE take your fists? *Yank*OWWWWWWWWWW*Yank*WWWWWWWWWWW*Yank*WWWW*Yank* WWW*RIIIIPPPP!*oooooooooooooohhhh.

You might want to read this little thread right here that answers most of your questions: Bizarre Things That Are Intentional (http://lotgd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=216)

Actually, when Smiythe augments your fists he just makes you a set of brass knuckles. :)

You mean, He makes a set of brass knuckles for you, I hope. Turning people into weapons is the purview of leaders, not weaponsmiths.
Although it might make a new bizzare thing, a smith who can make a weapon for you, or make you a weapon "POOF! You are a scimitar!"

I guess the original question leans towards asking if his percentage of appearance has been decreased? I personally see him very rarely, and strangely enough it seems I only ever see him while travelling between towns.

The percentages are unchanged and are the TOTAL chance for *ANY* special (15% on Central). Obviously as you add more specials the likelihood of any one particular special coming up decreases.
Incidentally, the reason you never see him in the forest is that he's now a *travel* special. :D As a person trying to make money from his craft would never, logically, hide in a forest, he has been placed where he belongs - on the roadside, flagging down travellers as potential customers.

I'ven't seen him too much lately, maybe twice in my last 4 o 5 DKs... but it doesn't worry me, he'll appear sometime again :)
