The MOTD explains what happened. And no, we were not hacked.

You might also want to look through the forums aswell next time before posting someone already brought up the subject in the Administrative and Technical Discussion Area

I am a fun loving and good natured person, but I have to say this: I truly am laughing at how uneducated and naive this post is.

Why or how would you know this?! Do you have the slightest inclination as to what hacking is or even looks like, or does? Please, please, educate yourself before you make bold statements that contradict your very first disclaimer above...

There's no need to be insulting.

Changing text to l33tspeak, or to at least replace the text with a different message, usually in l33tspeak, is a common enough symptom that a website has been "hacked".

And it is reasonable that, given our usual attitude about such things, someone else must have gained control of the site.

We found quite a few messages like this - and not only on this forum (see http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/read.cgi?id=20050427&tid=1633140).

So, please, remember that we try to be civil and respectful of others in game and on the forums.

This happens every time we activate a holiday filter.

It even happens when we tell them beforehand that it's going to happen! For those people, I might as well forget the MoTD and write it on a stickynote and place it in my refrigerator. Well let's face it, some people don't read it no matter where I put it...

would be to easy anyway :?
Perhaps they would read it if it actually were in your refrigerator, it would be a challenge and not this stupidly easy

:raises an eyebrow
considering you knew it *before* it actually happened...

What really made me laugh was this:

you might want to tak a look at the main lotgd.net

As if nobody had looked at it all day...
