View Full Version : Gem Safety

I figured I should put this here instead of petitioning it.

Anyway, my question is how safe is your jewelry? After the great HP Reset, I, like many had lots of gems on hand. To safeguard them, I put 150 into jewelry to save up for a better mount. So I bought a ring and a bracelet. I later resold the ring, but never touched the bracelet.

So imagine my surprise when that mount appeared in the Stables and I went to sell my bracelet, it was gone. All the joy suddenly went to shock, denial, outrage and disappointment in an instant. So my question is: Did I lose the bracelet somewhere in the course of the game? Was an unlucky encounter with Lonestrider responsible? Or prehaps a Gorgon/Cerebrus? Or was it something else? Was I not paying attention or did the game glitch on me?

While I'm comfortably resigned to the fact I'll never see the gems again, I'd just like to make sure that I lost them legimately. I have no expectations. Life stinks sometimes, oh well.

If anyone has any thoughts, feel free to add them.

When Lonestrider defeats you, he may take gems or a piece of jewelry.

*sighs* Figured it was something like that. I think that is unfair, but *shrugs* eh, whatever.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think some sort of way to see what we own would be nice. Getting the calle shell or jewelry doesn't mean much, if they are used/taken in some fashion and there isn't a way that makes their loss evident. Yes, I know, pay attention to outcomes. Read the text. But, hey, doesn't mean it registers with the brain.

Is there an inventory system being designed?

notice that oliver offers to sell you a new bracelet, that's the way you track not having it anymore...

but yes, an invitory system, can i safly assume it's still on the to do list?

If LS beats you and you still have all of your gems, he didn't go away empty handed.

And "we need a feature because we don't want to pay attention to the outcomes" is not going to work.

Inventory is on the to do list along with everything else, but it could take months or years to be done.

Just remember, our dedicated staff is overworked as it is. I've seen some of their responses to requests for new features. JCP is being nice. Don't push for a new feature. The best way I've seen for a new feature is to mention it would be nice, politely accept the burning comments from the admins, and wait. Granted, it may be a long wait, but the admins tend to suprise us with what they add. It my not be something you like, but at least it makes the game more interesting. The admins have my complete respect and support. They have to deal with some pretty crazy requests and some fairly rude people sometimes. Keep up the good work JCP. You and your fellow admins and the hard work you all put in is what make the game enjoyable.

(I didn't get off track too much, did I?)

Oh, and "YAARRRR!!!"

:politely notes that everyone pushing it WAS staff. :P

Nightwind codes, so we'll see what happens. What do you think Nightwind? You up to jewelry in bio?

I know how to get it there, but not how to take it back off....

more important then the fact that I code, is that I code, badly, and slowly

/me might have left it out of the bio on purpose

I will look at seeing if there is a nicer way to see, for oneself, what you have. I will 99% rule out adding to the bio. The tattoo info already takes up half the dang screen. Maybe Dying will volunteer to clean the tattoos up for me ;)
