After going on vacation, this idea came to me. When you logout and the next day comes, you can login and play. But if you logout for a few days you are only given that one new day. I understand why but I think it would be worth considering, if it hasn't been already. For all of the 'New Days' to add up, so incase you go on vacation and can't play.. you don't lose all of that intended gameplay.

I also think there should be a limit on it. I know that a character, after a certain level, is deleted after 3 months of not logging in. If that person logged in 2 months and 29 days and had all of those to make up, that would be kind of taking advantage of this idea. Unless, of course, he/she had a note from the doctor.

Well, considering that a major part of the game can happen while you are logged out (getting attacked in your sleep), it's not quite fair to allow people to miss out on getting attacked and then go on a rampage once a week.

We are looking into this situation for the future, and yes, obviously there will have to be some limits in order to prevent abuse.

However, (and this is a big however), we see this is a major problem in timed pay-for-play servers, such as the tournament servers.

On a free server, this is less of a problem. Even if a system is created to address such missed days, I don't forsee it being part of the environment of the Central server.

Although I can't locate the thread, this idea has been proposed, discussed and ixnayed already.

Thanks for your feedback JCP. Talisman, I couldn't find a thread on it after searching either.

I found it... well, if you were talking about the mod of course:

Otherwise, I HIGHLY doubt anything like this would ever go into place on Central.

I'm glad it was ixnayed before. It's not needed. Sure, one of your buddies could get up on you in DK's, but so what? Central is not a tournement. Besides, you might even be able to make up the difference if your friend takes a vacation.

I like it the way it is. I even miss game days on a regular basis. Since I started playing over a year ago, I should have amassed numerous DK's. But I only have, what, seven, I think. I'm not complaining.

Besides, the Admin types are overworked as it is. Let's stick to the age old premis of KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)

That's actually not the thread I was thinking about, Sichae...I'm pretty sure there was one in this forum discussing possible methods, pros and cons.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. Just showing that it is possible... but then again, it won't be put on Central. :)

I also think so.
