*Lets down the ramp for Waugh to board his floating gondola*

The tethers should keep you from going TOO far. But the jet streams up there can push this thing a little fast sometimes, so be careful if you crash in a forest somewhere.

*Allows Buttercup into the Gondola for a ride in the sky*

That's right, step right up one and all! The world's first, and as far as I know only, multi-winged glider that can generate its own thermals!

*Finishes his current potion project, and on the "Volunteers Wanted" table he leaves a vial of the potion next to a tray of cookies*

Anyone up for testing my latest mystery potion may have a cookie! The exact same cookie recipe was used here that won the Tornish Bake-Off when I was ten! Fantastic flavors taking full advantage of knowing just where those taste buds on your mouth are, and what they'll enjoy the most at any given time! Free of charge to potion volunteers!

*Checks his notes and the potions label*

Okay, if this works it'll either give you a third arm for half an hour, or it'll turn one of your arms invisible.

I'm working on a potion that'll grow an invisible arm, you see, and I felt I should tackle those two baby steps first.

Of course, that's assuming that it works and no side effects come up.

If I have two potions can I have two cookies?

Afgncaap5
11-19-2005, 09:28 PM
Only if you take two different potions. For instance, you can have a "grow a third arm for half an hour" potion, and you can also have a "turn an arm invisible" potion. Heck, that may prove that I can do both at once anyway, so why not take three for the price of two?

Buttercup admires the view from the top of the arc.

*A tiny flag on the air gondola pops up, revealing the message "Deposit 10 More Gold To Continue Flying For Another Five Minutes" next to a small locked box with a coin slot*

Furion

10 gold for 5 minutes! Those are outrageous prices!

:exercises his power as a consumer, and forms a one-man picket outside the tent, shouting "I would have brought a torch and pitchfork, but the gondola man took all my gold!" :D

Buttercup
11-21-2005, 09:48 AM
Buttercup pouts at the price gouging and joins Furry's picket line.

Afgncaap5

Sorry, but times are tough, you know? Most people just save their gold entirely for weapon or armor, or possibly food, drink and rooms at the inn. Without this gondola, my inventions wouldn't even pay for themselves.

However, this is a fixed rate. None of that fancy "increase price with level" stuff like they try to pull at certain other fine establishments in the realm. 10 gold, even if you're a step away from a DK.

Furion
11-21-2005, 10:32 PM
That's all fine and good, but do you inflate like Audrey? That's what I want to know!

Afgncaap5
11-22-2005, 12:27 AM
Only time can tell. Ask the chronomancers.

JackZackson
11-25-2005, 01:45 PM
:drinks all three potions within arms length and then swallows a small black vial whole:

Hmmm that must be worth a few cookies

:slowly begins to change colour and levitate:

So does mixing potions have any effect?

Afgncaap5
11-25-2005, 08:54 PM
*Blinks in surprise and begins scribbling furiously*

That's worth seven cookies if I can figure out what it means! It shouldn't have worked like that. I think you've discovered a new and wonderful law of physics!

Can you tell me *exactly* which potions you drank?

JackZackson
11-26-2005, 01:03 PM
:points:

Those three and that little vial thingie that I found in the yellow and black striped area... What does Hazmet mean?

:levitates out of reach of the cookies:

Hey!

Afgncaap5
11-26-2005, 06:35 PM
*Jumps onto a vacant air gondola, and tries to fly up to intercept Jack*

Hang on, I'm coming!

JackZackson
11-26-2005, 10:56 PM
:drifts slowly upwards:

OK and bring the cookies too I might need something to weigh me down

Afgncaap5
11-26-2005, 11:19 PM
*The gondola stops, pauses in midair and begins to sink*

Hang on! I'm coming back down to get the cookies so that I can come back up there!

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 01:51 AM
:flaps in an attempt not torise:

Uhhh sure I'll just hang about somehow... anyone got a rope or an...

:finally remembers he is weilding an anchor and lowers it slowly down with the chain:

Perhaps this might be of use

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 11:57 AM
*With cookies in hand, he begins ascending again. Suddenly, an anchor lowers from above into his gondola, pushing it back down*

Well, that's....um....that's something you don't see everyday....

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 03:09 PM
It's my weapon of choice... think you can pull me down before I run out of chain?

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 03:29 PM
*Begins pulling on the anchor chain with his hands and, to speed things up, his tail as well*

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 05:08 PM
:Slowly descends:

Just a little further I can almost reach the cookies

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 05:12 PM
*Pulls a little faster*

Just make sure you grab a railing or something to stabilize your mad dash for cookies.

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 06:35 PM
:grabs a railing with one hand and reaches for the cookies with the other... incidentally letting go of the rest of the chain:

So these cookies contain the antidote right?

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 06:49 PM
*Blinks*

Um, you know...in the mad dash to get up here before you played Icarus, I forgot about concocting an antidote. Give me five minutes once we get back to Earth.

*Begins descending the gondola*

I just thought you wanted the cookies to munch on the way down. Heh-heh....silly me.

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 08:21 PM
:flips himself round and hooks his foot under the rail due to his kilt while he munches cookies:

Well they are good cookies

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 08:25 PM
*The gondola lands, and Affy begins putting together antidotes to the various mixed potions*

Thanks. An old recipe from back home. Now then, where's that bull elephant blood....

JackZackson
11-27-2005, 08:31 PM
:taps his foot almost floating away as he waits:

This will stop the colours too right?

Afgncaap5
11-27-2005, 09:45 PM
If it doesn't stop it, then it'll probably be the first step in a long, possibly painful, series of tests and experiments that will eventually yield a solution.

*Injects some cookies with what he hopes is an antidote*

Here, try this!

*Takes notes*

JackZackson
11-28-2005, 01:59 PM
:eats the cookie:

Well did it work? I'm still floating

:glows brightly but only one colour:

Afgncaap5
11-28-2005, 04:24 PM
*Raises an eyebrow in alarm and quickly mixes some other things*

Can't be too far from a recovery now...here, try this pigment alligner...

JackZackson
11-28-2005, 04:46 PM
:drinks the alligner:

Well how do I look?

Afgncaap5
11-28-2005, 11:26 PM
You look fantastic! Now then, how to get you down to Earth....

Either you're filled with some sort of lighter-than-air substance since you drank all those potions at once, or you yourself have become lighter than air. As the atmospheric conditions at the moment would probably crush a normal person to death, it's reasonable to assume that you'd at least feel some mild discomfort if you yourself were that light being a battle-hardened adventurer. So I expect the former to be the case.

*Carefully mixes some ingredients*

Based on the potions you drank, I think that this antidote has the best shot at transfering this lighter-than-air substance into something denser, a great deal of citrus and water. And you'll probably have a fever for an hour or so.

If I'm *WRONG* then there shouldn't be much bad happening.

So remember: you get a fever if you're cured.

*Offers the potion*

JackZackson
11-29-2005, 02:02 PM
:shrugs and drinks the potion:

I don't feel anythi...

:hears a worrying gurgle from his stomach:

Ummm this conversion of the lighter than air substance within me... how does that work?

:begins to sweat slightly:

Afgncaap5
11-29-2005, 07:33 PM
*Grins*

Just a simple chemical reactions, one product of which should be a great amount of heat. Nothing that our physiology can't handle in the long run, but the short term effects may be difficult. I recommend drinking lots of water.

JackZackson
11-30-2005, 02:32 PM
:slowly begins to decend:

Is there a well on this gondola?

:frowns as his stomach gurgles again:

DruneSilentarrow
12-01-2005, 12:06 PM
:Comes around, looking for a job. Not seeing the propriotor he seals some cookies and waits.

Layla

Layla looks at the tent and at the sign. She looks around and wonders if anyone's still here.

"Umm... Hi, is there room for one more by any chance? she asks the tent flap.
