View Full Version : The greatest LOGD story ever told! :P

Or at least something to make you chuckle. ;) Most who know me well know that I am old. Not old by standards of actual time, but older than most of the kiddies who play where I play. A friend here said he thought there might be someone older than me, and she’s Dying. I had to laugh, but carefully so I wouldn’t fall and break a hip.
I'm so old...what was I talking about? :P
A few weeks ago I was playing my level 1 rounds after a DK while my daughter Autumn watched...see aforementioned comment about age..
I was doing my usual not paying attention style of fighting in the forest, (don’t try that at home) when I encountered and was stomped flat by a level 2 critter. I land in the shades while my daughter practically writhes beside me at my having died, and quickly resurrect. I mention offhandedly that I’m getting killed because I’m not looking at the forest creature’s level, then its back into the forest for some payback, or so I thought.
I'm clicking along, with no regard to safety or text, (yes I am a slow learner) when suddenly she yells out, "Level 2!" I look up just as my itchy finger goes ”click” and watch as a pair of swallows sends me back to the shades less than five minutes after I resurrect!
I can only hope that she is learning to pay attention to the world around her. Obviously I’m not ( as I type this I am resurrected by the new day after again dying to a level 2 creature because..say it with me now…I wasn’t paying attention.)
I love this game ;)

It was a very nice story indeed!!
How old is your daghter? She seems quite clever, if she start playing at LotGD now, she can be terrible in some time! ;) :D
And about lvl2 creatures, they don't bother me now with my strenght, but some DKs ago I had to remind myself to watch the level of the monster before clicking "5 Rounds" xD

She's 11..but I doubt that I could handle her playing. At least not playing a role. Someone would say something to her and my protective nature would kick in in a bad way..lol
Besides, competition for the computer is fierce enough without having her play GD too ;)

Gotta watch those level 2 creatures when you're level 1, even if you're a God - they are twice as powerful as you, after all!
As for age, I think I'm one of the oldest players on Central (no, I won't tell you how old! :P )

I wont ask :P I'll just sit here and quietly speculate...
It is nice to know that I'm not the only one having my rear handed to my by a pair of swallows

Doesn't mind being old. 48 and counting, with a grandbaby on the way in May! I intend to teach the little darling how to play as soon as she can read :)

Uadjet m'dear I love that story. It's the funniest Lotgd moment I've read about yet. I'll be forever remembering "Level 2!"

Maybe you should consider having her near you the next time after you get a DK! ;D

That's a good idea. At least until I make it out of level 1 :P
Glad you all enjoyed the story. If I can ever tear myself away from the realm you may get to meet her.

She's like Eibwen the faerie who yells 'RUN' when a level 2 or 3 shows up.

Keep telling those stories Jet.
You're a great talespinner. I recall you managing to keep 90% of the gardens silent as you told the story of the woodpecker 8)

People being "old" here doesn't surprise me. Although I'm only 19 myself, I'm sure most of you my age and older play LOtGD for the nostalgia. I miss playing all those old games on my dad's BBS years ago. And spying on people using his SYSOP account. :)

I prefer to think of myself as "well seasoned" :)

I prefer the term "experienced" to "well seasoned" - after all, I'm not a prime rib!

:wonders what kind of "experience" Bratt is refering to......

:rolls his eyes at Fritz's suggestion , and throws in for good measure
Why, the experience of life on the high seas, of course. Isn't that what birthdays celebrate?
:apologizes for any confusion he will inevitably cause. :D

bratt grins at Fritz' attempted implications, and clarifies her comment with
"All and any experiences, of course!"
She agrees also with Furry, who just identifies a part of the big picture.
