View Full Version : Rules (now that the server is more slack)

I'm just curious. Are we allowed to attack our own characters now that the server is more slack or can we still get banned for doing so?

I don't think you should do that. We still run alt checks and attacking your alt can't really be much more than gaining an unfair advantage.

Customs on this server:
7. You may have more than one character, but they shouldn't interact. Don't attack each other, talk to each other, place bounties on each other, or refer your own alts. That sort of cheating is just in bad taste. If you share a computer with another player we will assume there is only one person at the keyboard.
It's in the FAQ.

Important word there is customs X-Kal. If I'm right it used to read rules. If you look at number 5 it's actually about chatspeak, which while technically allowed is still a bad bad thing, and most people will complain about it/gently suggest the chatspeak is cut out.
But gaining an unfair advantage by farming gold at a low level, or building up a high exp character just to attack them is still against the rules, as good sir Furion says.

Basically, anything that does not hurt anyone else and does not ruin anyone else's enjoyment of the game will now be ignored (chatspeak, game secrets, blah blah) HOWEVER this does not mean the other players will LIKE things that are inconsiderate. If you have a dirty mouth expect other players to tell you and then ignore you.
This was done because when the 5 main admins left it left Classic with only part-time staff members. We concentrate on things we have time for which are NECESSARY, such as, "my donation is missing", "help me i am stuck on a badnav" and "i forgot my password".
But... there will always be time to ban someone who ruins the spirit of what the place is all about. If anyone cheats or behaves inappropriately you can and WILL have your character locked, be banned from the game, or your character can be deleted. We consider attacking or placing bounties on your alts to be cheating. Everyone else worked hard for their place in the Hall of Fame, and if some people don't have to work as hard, the whole idea of it is useless.
