View Full Version : [BUG] Logging in & PVP Setting

I think I already mentioned these to you but since this seems the official location to post these:
1) On logging in I got a message about there being a problem with the pinatta module. Empirically, as an aside I feel it's a much more generous pinatta then the one on Classic, which I think is good. Anyway, this is especially weird since I always logout, and I didn't let my account time out, so there should have been no reason to invoke the pinatta module.
2) When PvP preferences were first enabled, I, and I assume all other players, did not get the option to change them. I presume this is because we had "already decided" to allow PvP, perhaps because things like candle burning and previous PK attempts weren't counted. I'm not sure if this bug will continue for new players.

As an aside, I think charging gems for mercenaries may be a little steep. Unless, perhaps, you're facing the dragon, in which case I'm not sure how the dragon's stats are affected. I just feel that you get one or two gems per level, assuming you're playing truant, and thus, unless you are a feylene, which DragonPrime doesn't have, mercs aren't a really cost-effective proposition. Maybe when I have more gems I'll be able to give you a more definitive stance on that, but that's merely an observation.

Which server - is this for DP Beta? Talisman, Elessa and I were working on Pinata today (I found a bug on my test install which should now be fixed).

The dev team have also noted that PvP should probably set new players to "immune" by default. I don't know if that will be changed but we're aware.

Thanks for the feedback! Let us know if that Pinata error still exists.

Yup, it was on DP Beta. And that explains why I was having difficulty. =)

The mercenaries should be a regular part of the latest LotGD release. Yes, a gem for what buffs they offer aren't always worth it. They don't offer the same buffs every time, but I won't reveal more about that secret ;)

I don't always go with the mercenary buffs before the dragon, by the way.

I think the felyne becomes available after you put on a certain number of dragonkills. I'm not sure how many - it may just be one.

(Y'know, I've never tried the spoilerboxes on the new forums!)

EDIT: Removing the quote box seems better. Highlight to see spoiler.

The mercenaries he's referring to aren't the forest/travel event, they are a new feature of 1.1.1.

As for their worth, the current set of companions are arbitrarily designed, with no guarantee that they are ideal for any particular level or cost. Like mounts and drinks, they will be custom created for each server, beyond those which are included in the core release. Cost can be in gems, gold, or a combination of the two...all depends on the creator...

Whether or not they are worth the cost all depends on the player's strategy, cost, benefits and whether or not the player actually ensures the companion remains healthy.

The PVP issue was hopefully due to the late installation of the module, but will not be an issue in the future. We have to wait for a few players to DK and report their experience with it.

Thanks for the feedback, EH

X-Kal, Felyne *should* default to 1DK for the minimum before you can choose it, as when I wrote it I considered it unfair to farmies (the gold deficit makes it harder to max your weapons). So I am guessing Talisman left it as 1DK.

Felyne might not be activated in DP LoGD at the moment.

there is still a bug with the pinata on DP beta. the settings are saying only active in the gardens during a garden party, however it is visible in the gardens. not supposed to be... there isn't a garden party currently active.

EH was referring to a bug which generated an error and broke his navs...that issue is fixed.

Though I should point out that I have seen the exact same results vis-a-vis the garden pinatta as Elessa.

Yes, that's the result of a code tweak made the other night, which in turn (obviously) requires another tweak. In the meantime, enjoy the guaranteed pinata event!

I'll put it in my do-list if Tal and Elessa don't have a chance to look it over. I'm already supposed to be looking at the healer script ;)ยง
