IF what Skriker is speaking of is not what you are talking about, there are certain servers that allow you to flirt, instead of with Seth/Violet, with other players. One server I know of allows you to flirt same-sex (and probably some others do too). You'll just have to try out each server and find out. Not sure what you mean by "this is for main game only."

I find it best not to actually go looking for women on LotGD and just be nice, they tend to gravitate towards you, heh :)

But yes, that did seem to have a little too much desperation in it.....

Flirting with others in LoGD is... fraught with issues. Firstly, you don't know the age of ANY stranger you begin chat with. No matter what they tell you.

On Central and DragonCat you need to behave yourself. Central is 18+ and DragonCat is "mature audience" (I believe around 16+ is how Kendaer prefers the behaviour). This doesn't mean you can go nuts in YOM.

If you have a look at the actual "flirting" in the Inn it is very very tame. This is really what it should be about. There's no game advantage in being more graphic.

If it's suitable for the village of the server you are in, you STILL need to be careful what you say. Some servers allow risqué chat but there is still a chance a minor is watching.

Cybersex isn't appropriate in any of them. I will stand corrected as soon as someone shows me a server where a Credit Card number is required to gain access (which means children definitely can't get in and then it would be ok).

Unless this is the case, tread carefully lest you find a police officer knocking on your front door.

I just realised... you may be on a server that collects flirt points? If that's all it is, no problem. Just keep it clean :)

Admins can, by law, read your yoms if they think a crime is going on or even if they have a suspicion. When it comes to protection of children, those laws generally override our respect for a players' privacy.

I THINK if you got a certain number of flirt points you could propose marriage. I was briefly on a server where chat was allowed to be on the slightly risque side, and it had a flirt module - the Loveshack. If I read the rules right, you flirted (and thereby got flirt points?) by buying a player flowers, chocolates, and drinks, and if you had enough points you could propose marriage, and there was a chapel. There was also an ignore button for those who didnt want the attentions of someone. The module itself was quite innocent.

As Lauri and others have pointed out, it's best to play the game to slay dragons. Have fun in chat, but keep it family-friendly. I find that gets you in the least amount of trouble while still allowing for lots of joking around. I play Shiqra to be a solo warrior, and she really hasn't had a romantic interest in-game beyond Seth. I've seen some people successfully pull it off in game - but those mostly have fun with it.

But speaking as a female and an active player - the BEST way to make me want to ignore you is to type something like that. I have a tendency to ignore first and ask questions second. Just play the game, have fun, chat up the other players - and you'll be surprised how many friends you can make.

Flirt points aren't something you buy (at least, I don't think so). That was what I was talking about in my post earlier on in this thread. Basically certain servers will let you "flirt" instead of with Violet or Seth, then with other players. It depends as usual on the amount of charm you have... I have played on 2 other servers that utilize this option... one was http://www.maddriovillage.com/maddriovillage/ and the other one doesn't seem to exist any more ( can't find it).

I think the purpose of flirting and getting married is that you can get defense in the forest as you would get drinking ale or something else but only flirting with your husband/wife... I once played that way and is not bad and you always can ingnore it. Of course it's only for the game, is the carachter who gets married, not me! :o
