How to change my server time

So, when it was 9:49pm where I live, it was 2010-11-11 03:49:55 am in LotGD.

And even though I set the Real time to offset new day to +06:00, which made it so a new game day technically does start at midnight my time, when I logged in several hours before midnight, the news was already showing the next day (and of course said "Nothing of note has happened" etc.

I'm assuming I need to change the time on my server?

I've tried creating an .htaccess file and adding "SetEnv TZ US/Central" to it and such.

Not sure what else to try. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help. I am using NearlyFreeSpeech.net if that makes any difference.

As you can see, the game time is about 10:00pm on Nov 10, 2010, but the server time is Nov 11. And when a player signs in, the news for Nov 11 shows up, even though the game time isn't Nov 11 yet. Is that a bug? Or expected? How can I make the two 'aligned'?
