RL friends playing LOGD

I really wish I had a RL friend who played LOGD. I have had at least 5 friends who started, and only one became a page before he quit. I am not sure if my friend who first showed me logd plays or not...

A RL friend got me into this (actually, he was the sysop of a bbs that used to run LORD, and we *became* RL friends), but he doesn't play. I tried to get my little sister into it, too, but it didn't stick. I think it's cool to be the only one I know who plays - can't talk about with anyone, but then I also don't have anyone spoiling secrets for me...

Same here, Acemaster. Almost my situation exactly. I wish I had real-life friends who played too, but the ones I know on the server are good too. (Plus, Waugh looks like a cool guy ) No, but actually, I can't believe that more people don't play this game, when they play <bad> games at places like addictinggames.com that sometimes get you spyware anyway. What's not to love about LOGD?

I have a couple RL friends playing, who help me run the clan <WKGP> now. It's fun to talk and strategize.

I had a couple of real life friends I referred but they also dropped it. A shame really, but I think it requires a special kind of addictive personality to keep playing a cycling game like LoGD.

But the converse has also been the case. I now consider my online friends my closest friends. I've met the most wonderful bunch of people I could ever hope to meet in the staff that work with me. I've met one of the players in person and there are a bunch of the Strayan staff that I'll be meeting before the year is out. I have a brilliant person in my co-SrAdmin JCP, who has more grace as a manager than anyone I have ever known. We have a brilliant mind in MightyE, who has always taken the time to listen to suggestions even when he didn't have to. There is my code mentor Kendaer, who had more time for me than I ever deserved when I was learning to code. Our SrMods have worked together so brilliantly and held the fort at times when the top brass couldn't be online. The moderators are the glue of this place, the heart that keep the place beating from day to day. And I am sure he'd rather I didn't say his name out loud, but the person who answers nearly all of the player enquiries and never complains, who just quietly does everything he can to help people and goes out of his way to be nice without enough recognition for it. That would be Admin Booger, and a dear friend of mine, even though he's on the other side of the world.

The <BNKR> clan on central is completely composed of my friends from college. Two of them are currently married (to each other), one just left, one graduated and went to work a state away, and myself and another guy are still here, plugging away at our respective degrees.

*grin* I referred about 3 people, and only one of them managed to even manage their first DK since then. (Not being a prime example of swift DKing I can't really talk but still).
Heh, I think not knowing people adds to the RP really - it's a little odd if you know the other person too well. However, it also encourages you to make in game friends. Like <DARK>, I've found are really sociable on MSN and realy nice people who I'd love to meet in RL *she says, while sneaking out the door*
But, think the "addictive personality" thing is about right. I get really enthusiastic about things I like and I didn't quite manage to infect my friends with the same amount.
However... some people, it turns out, live closer to me than I'd thought so.... *runs for the hills*
