Well, it seems that the buffs this particular mount gives you are based on certain things that I may not have fully understood when I decided to try it. I think I have an idea about what it needs though. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that right now, I have 1 DK, and when I got the Valkyrie, i was getting like an insane +18 to attack and like +15 to defense. Then I used something which made my buffs drop to +.7 attack and -2.1 for defense.
So it has been good and bad...

I think the Valkyrie is one of the creatures that are best-suited for people with more dragon kills, but I don't know what the magic number is. It's definitely that way with the gryphon - I don't think I even approached that until I had something like 20 kills.

I think I have figured out how to utilize it's special talents. It is possible more DKs would help, but I think I have figured out how to get the good buffs with it for now.

My alt recently got a Valkyrie and it was amazing... not just wow but jaw droppingly powerful.
I can thrillseek until I run out of mount buffs and I will never get to swing my fists because the mount kills everything before I can react. I can't yet work out why this happens but I have to assume that I've unwittingly hit the magic number somewhere. Or perhaps the Valkyrie really is just that awesome.

I've an alt with it too. I am not sure if number of DKs has anything to do with it at all, but I DO know that those of us that have FEW DKs may unwittingly accumulate something that makes it more powerful. Life is tough in the Forest at the lower DK levels...

It sure seems that way, as my alt can not beat his master he slowly accumulates pretty much everything.
When Christmas rolls around he's going to do most of the gift buying ;D
