It was ruined.
Harvin looked sadly at the pile of rubble that once was his house. He never saw his parents since he... died. Nor his sister, nor... - Why I can't remember! Their faces were blurred, their names vanished. He knew there were his parents and his sister, the lord and even that old travelling merchant that appeared on the farmlands every now and then. But when he tried to remember the details all he could see was the face of a lost man. That was the same face he saw at the lake, when he came back. The face of the man whose the body he got lent. That man was somehow driven away from reality, and as it seems, he wouldn't come back so easily. This was the opportunity Harvin was expecting. Finally he escaped from Limbo. ~Stop reminiscing, time is short. Don't forget you may be forced to return if you don't fulfill your duty.~ That was the voice from the locket, echoing through his mind. The voice from responsible for all this. "I know Granny, but how am I supposed to find someone I've never seen if I don't even have a name to begin with." ~The relic must be given to the next in the bloodline. The descendant of your sister.~ The witch, his great-great-great-grandmother(although some "greats" might be missing), was the one who made the locket. She was very wise and knew more about nature than many sages. She has been once indebted with the old lord of the lands and vowed to help him in times of need. It happened that a snake bite the daughter of the lord and the witch was called, but the snake was summoned by dark magic and its poison couldn't be removed. The girl ended dying. The lord was enraged. He cursed every sage and mystic on the land and stated that from that day on the use of any obscure lore in his land would be punished. Even so, the witch stayed and married a peasant, but kept following the lord's rules, and her wisdom was invaluable several times. But for generations the forbiddance would be kept. Seeing that the heart of the lord was poisoned with grief and hatred, she decided to safeguard her knowledge. She left the land of the lord and returned after several months, bringing an oval golden locket. The locket would be given to her children (she was married with a peasant) during the first years of their life, so the nature lore would become an imperceptible, but fundamental, part of their consciousness. But right now, the witch's wisdom wasn't being helpful at all. He could see that, like the green mist that he exhaled each day more, he would soon be expelled from this body. And then, he would be back to the Limbo. Who knows if he ever would have another chance. He just wanted to be free. Back then, he didn't know much about the locket, but he knew it was valuable. He listened the stories about heroes from another lands the old merchant used to tell. He wanted to travel and he wanted to find a better place for his family to live. He once overheard his parents talking about the locket's and how it would be dangerous if the young lord, which inherited the hatred of magic from his family line, knew about it. So, one night, he took the locket and set out for new lands. He intended to sell the locket and find a new place for settlig down, so he could move his family together and depend no longer on any lord. Things didn't work the way he planned. He just arrived to a village, walking around amazed. Before he could blink, he was surrounded by bandits. A sudden move and a deep pain, the leader of the bandits stabbed his, saying he wasn't welcome. Punching through the bandits, he was able to get away, but he was still deeply wounded. And so he died on a dark corner, due to the loss of blood, but he couldn't get rest. Now, he stood before the ruins of his old house. The farmlands were abandoned. Even lord's mansion was empty. Who knows how much time has passed. (OOC: Harvin is still trying to figure out what happened and how he is going to find his sister's descendants[which might be sons/daughters or grandsons/grandaughters or ...]. There might be appearances of lord's descendants too, the roles are free to be taken and most details will be decided by roleplaying. Interested people preferably must roleplay human or half-human characters[nothing too exagerated]. Another [less limited] roles which might be helpful[or at least interesting] are welcome. I intend to continue the story at the Gardens of the Classic server, if you are interested, YoM TwilightVulpine. If not possible, there is a chance I will continue the story here, so PM me. Please, help me to free this poor soul.) |
